Ibn Saad

Ibn Saad

A warm welcome to Ibn Saad’s class page

Please read below some of the exhilarating learning taken place in our class so far in the year 2017.

In Ibn Saad, we want to become better wholesome individuals, we are always looking at ways to improve our character and become super role model learners. Therefore, our teachers are always promoting and encouraging us on these points.

We are really enjoying all aspects of our learning in mathematics! We are now able to explain and understand what numbers really mean and look like in the real world! Inspire maths is going to make us marvellous mathematicians. We may become maths professors soon after experiencing using the maths working walls as seen below:

In preparation for our next ‘Rocks’ unit in science, we visited White Scar Caves in Yorkshire. We were given an incredible opportunity of learning outside of the classroom and having memorable life experiences! We had an amazing time as you can see from the images below!

World Book Day

On this auspicious day, an awareness was created of the importance of reading and promoting the love for reading and learning. As a result, we went home on this day and challenged our family members with regards to how much reading they undertake! We had a lot of fun dressing up – our costumes had a ‘wow’ factor! See our class photo from World Book Day below:

RE Super Learning Week

We have had a spiritual week in RE studying four different faiths: Judaism, Bhudism, Sikhism and Hinduism. Our knowledge on religions has increased and the message of respecting all faiths, beliefs and cultures has been constantly emphasised. We have been fortunate to receive boxes of artefacts from each of the religions studied. See an example of the Hinduism artefacts used below:

We were paid a visit by an artist, Ismail Hussayn. He thrilled us with his amazing artistic talents and shared some top tips with us as to how we can become future artist. Ismail Hussayn produces mind-blowing pieces of art calligraphy and as a treat, he wrote ‘Jazakallah’ (which means may the Almighty grant us goodness) in a special calligraphy font. This is proudly on show in our class as seen below:

Next term, we will be having an Ancient China super learning day! The Olive school continues to provide us with fabulous learning experiences!
