Ibn Maalik Autumn 1

Welcome to Ibn Malik
Ibn Malik have kicked started this year with a bang!
Children in Ibn Malik thoroughly enjoyed the first English unit on ‘Stories from Different Cultures’, where they explored a traditional African story and had the pleasure of meeting the main character of the story – Matiwara (all the way from Africa!).

Would you like to visit China? We did! Ibn Malik travelled back in time to Ancient China on a captivating Ancient China super learning day. Children understood the historical significance of the Great Wall of China and learnt about Chinese food, clothing and the Chinese New Year. Take a look at some pictures from our oriental inspired day.

Beautiful Maryam Abdurahman dressed up as Matiwara from ‘Matiwara’s Name Game’.
Inspired by the artist Edward Saidi Tingatinga, Ibn Malik sketched their very own modern Tingatinga piece of African art.
Can you spot the African animal in the abstract sketches below?

Participating on Friday 17th November 2017, Ibn Malik will be infected with dots when they dress up to raise money for Children in Need. Watch this space for pictures.
