Ibn Salaamah Autumn 1

Ibn Salaamah

We have made a great start in English this half-term. We have been on a ‘Bear Hunt’ in the forest, take a look here.

We have travelled to Space with Bob, the ‘Man on the Moon’ and we have also made a very healthy fruit salad using the fruits from the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We must make sure we write on the line, use finger spaces, capital letters and full stops. Here we are making a cheese sandwich for our journey into Space!

We have been learning about numbers to 10. We can find different ways to make a number and can use this knowledge to add and subtract numbers within 10. We have been using the ‘part-whole model’ and can use this when we add or subtract. We have also started learning about shape and recognising shapes in different pictures.

We have been learning about the weather! We can name the seasons and associated weather and can explain why it rains. We got to make instruments that sound like thunder. We even made a ‘Cloud in a jar’.
