Ibn Zubayr Autumn 1

A huge hello from Ibn Zubayr.

It’s been a fantastic first half term for all the children and staff in Ibn Zubayr. All the children have made a superb start to their school life at the Olive school. At first, we had a few worried faces and a few tears but now Ibn Zubayr children come in with a beautiful smile every morning and are feeling great!

Take a look at what Ibn Zubayr have been getting up to in our classroom.

All the children have started learning Phase 2 letter sounds. In Ibn Zubayr we have written our new letters sounds using lots of different methods.

In the first half term children learnt nursery rhymes and also had a go at rehearsing the rhymes and making actions for them!

We also did lots of work on labelling different parts of objects such as our body, bikes and even a house!

In maths all the children have learnt to count to 10 and beyond! The children have worked hard with their number formation and have now started to add small groups of objects together. They have also learnt how to count and match the amount!

The children also learnt 2D shapes.

In ICT the children have been exploring a range of technology. They have used laptops, iPads and even recorders to explore all the different types of media.

During our first half term we also learnt all about the festival of Diwali in Topic.

Continuous Provision

Ibn Zubayr love the different activities and challenges available across the EYFS classrooms. Take a look at what we have been doing indoors and outdoors in our continuous provision area.
