Welcome from the Principal

The Olive School, Blackburn is a three-form entry Muslim faith based primary school that opened in September 2013. We promote fundamental British values and welcome applications from all faiths and none.

The Olive is a very popular and oversubscribed school. It was set up in response to overwhelming demand from the local community for an outstanding education that would meet the aspirations of local families.

Our school vision of educational excellence is based upon our unshakeable belief that every child is special and unique and has the capacity within themselves to flourish and succeed. As teachers, we feel honoured and privileged with the responsibility for nurturing, inspiring and supporting every special individual child at our school to make sure they are able to shine, succeed and develop their natural gifts and talents. Our vision for the school is reflected in everything we do. We are determined to provide all our children with inspirational and unforgettable learning experiences.

Our school is built on the values of self-discipline, compassion, mutual respect for all people regardless of difference and respect for the earth itself. These fundamental values underpin the Muslim faith and our British society. We live in a multicultural society and we want our pupils to develop into confident, articulate young people who will grow into great role models within the society in which they live.
