Pupils raise money for children’s charity with a hop, skip and jump

Pupils at The Olive School, Blackburn, put their best foot forward by taking part in an obstacle course for charity.

The children raised over £3000 for the NSPCC children’s charity with a variety of challenges including an egg and spoon race, jumping through hoops, football dribbling and running relay.

The fundraising event followed an internet safety talk by representatives of the children’s charity.

Pupil Zafreen Mohmed said:

“It was a lot of fun tackling the obstacle course and I am really pleased the money will go to help keep children safe who are less fortunate than ourselves.”

Acting Principal Susannah Berry said:

“The children really wanted to give something back to the NSPCC after they came to the school to give us a talk on internet safety.

“We thought the obstacle course was a really fun way for the children to raise money, as well getting them outdoors and doing some exercise at the same time.

“We are so proud of them for raising such a fantastic amount.”
